From the Tallahassee Democrat:

If slavery is America’s original sin, then racism is her enduring curse. We can’t cure it; we can only manage it and learn from it. And on nights like Tuesday at The Moon, at The Village Square and Leon County’s event Created Equal, storytelling about race, that curse turned into a blessing.

An audience of several hundred people heard from storytellers like Olorunfunmi “Funmi” Ojetayo from Nigeria talk about how race “like an albatross” hangs about his neck while he’s in America and the liberation he feels when he returns to his native land where he’s not defined by his blackness.
