THE VILLAGE SQUARE TO HOST 12TH ANNUAL TALLAHASSEE TOWN HALL
in partnership with Leadership Tallahassee, Tallahassee Democrat and WFSU
(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – March 13, 2024 – If you want to participate in civic life here in Tallahassee but aren’t interested in preparing a 3-minute speech for a commission meeting, we have a local tradition that’s just for you. On Wednesday, March 20th at 6 pm at the WFSU Studios, citizens will have an opportunity to gather with both Leon County and City of Tallahassee Commissioners for the 12th Annual Tallahassee Town Hall — our hometown’s neighborly answer to all the anger on hourly display in Washington, D.C.
Moderated by WFSU Public Media’s Tom Flanigan, the event program pairs commissioners from both the City of Tallahassee and Leon County for a cross-governmental discussion about where Tallahassee is as a community, where we’re going, and what challenges we face in getting there. Scheduled to join the conversation from Leon County are Commissioners Rick Minor, Carolyn Cummings, Nick Maddox, Brian Welch, and David O’Keefe; and from the City of Tallahassee are Mayor John Dailey and Mayor Pro-Tem Curtis Richardson and Commissioners Dianne Williams-Cox and Jack Porter.
The Town Hall program is a continuation of an ongoing series of unique locally-focused forums sponsored by The Village Square, a nonprofit devoted to bridging divides through discussion and spirited disagreement. The program is offered in partnership with the Tallahassee Democrat, WFSU Public Media, and Leadership Tallahassee, a program of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
The Tallahassee Town Hall will have a live in-studio audience and will also be streamed live on Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20th.
